Can I bleach my teeth when attachments are on?
If you have attachments (also known as buttons or bonding) on your teeth due to orthodontic treatment with clear aligners (like Spark and Invisalign), You can 100% bleach your teeth during this process. Here’s why: Whitening treatments work by bleaching the enamel of your teeth to lighten stains and discoloration. The bleach is taken in by the enamel surface and bleaches from inside out, so it does not matter if you have attachments. Now, the only thing is that your teeth might look whiter than the attachments and the attachments become more obvious.
If you’re interested in whitening your teeth and you have attachments, you can bleach your teeth during and also after the attachments are removed.
Always consult with Dr. Nizam and her clinical team before starting any whitening treatments to ensure they are appropriate for your specific situation and to receive guidance on the best timing for your individual orthodontic treatment plan.
