Best Invention Since Sliced Bread!!!

I get asked routinely, why I love INVISALIGN for my patients and my answer is: “It works and it looks great!”.

Don’t get me wrong, I was trained to straighten teeth even with a wire and a thread but if I can make it easier for my patients, than why not. What I have realized as I use Invisalign more and more in my office is that “Practice makes perfect”. I have been able to tweak the technology with the help of several advanced Invisalign courses taken all over North America and learning from the experts. Just like braces, you get to know the appliance in detail and make it work for you. Braces don’t straighten teeth, Orthodontist do!! Just like that, Invisalign does not straighten teeth, Orthodontist program it to straighten teeth.

My experience with Invisalign has taught me that there are three main advantages of Invisalign:

  1. Oral Hygiene: No matter how good of a flosser the patient is, it hard to get in the small corners created by braces. Invisalign eliminates the hassle of cleaning around the brackets. If you had good oral hygiene prior to starting orthodontics, than you will be just fine during Invisalign treatment.
  2. Removable and Esthetically Pleasing: Life goes on without having a metal mouth, while in the background your smile is blooming. It is amazing to see the smile change in my patients without them hiding the smile behind the metal brackets. My Invisalign patients actually appreciate and show off their changing smile to the world more than the patients with braces.
  3. Comfortable and Removable: I had braces in my late twenties and now I am an Invisalign patient. Let me tell you having gone through both systems, Invisalign is a walk in the park. Don’t get me wrong it does requires your full compliance but once having the trays in your mouth becomes a part of you (about 1-2 weeks) you will sail smoothly towards an amazing smile. On top of that, if you have an important meeting/date, it is ok to take the trays out for 2-3 hours and give yourself a break but still show the world your changing smile and feel confident.

Overall, Invisalign is great product, if used accurately and designed properly. You need to find yourself a trained specialist who deals with Invisalign on a regular basis and than watch your smile change in front of your eyes without being distracted by metal braces.
